Why who is more important than how? by Pilar Ortiz

Having the motivation to pursue your goals can be a challenge. Naturally, everyone wants to make their dreams come true.

However, most of those goals stay in the mind because you do not take the step, why,  because of the fear of "how am I going to achieve it?"

You want to start your own business but you are paralyzed by the idea of not having the money yet. Is that your case? Don't feel guilty, the problem is you are focusing on the how. Maybe you feel that "knowing" and controlling everything is the most important.

However, the "how" tends to limit you because it focuses on what you are missing rather than what you already have. If you ask yourself how to get that new dream job, you might answer: "with the degrees, I don't have yet", "with the experience I haven't got yet.

The "how" always leads you to see what you don't have ,and this demotivates you in the process to the point of forcing you to give up.

Now, what if I ask you who will do it?

The "who" is no one else but yourself. You are the engine that drives you to do things and the best reason to keep going. The "who" gives value to the talents you have. This does not mean that the how is not important, the point is that this does not depend on you and comes up as you take action.

Stop worrying about how you are going to achieve your goals. Doing so is limiting you and stopping you from taking action. That's why the powerful question to ask yourself is: Who do you need to be TODAY to achieve what you want? Start there. Work and invest in you.
